I justified renting a larger gas power feed unite on what it would cost me to buying a Hyd. PTO chipper (preferred). I couldn't or wanted to pass up my new purchase or toy for my BX Kubota the BX42s-R. The R stands for weathered and possible surface rust. Caused possibly by having to refit a correct fitting Rotor. Thats what I was told.
To the point, my BX tractor loved playing with its new FH-BX42s gravity feed chipper, no bog down chipping green Laural hedge with heavy branches (3.5), fir and Maple and apple. All by eye whatever would fit toward the max of 4". When it came to branches with foliage most would follow their branches others would be drawn in by the pucker branches. This FH-BX42s chipper works great for the Subcompact work horse tractor up into larger Compact HP tractor.
It's nice to be able to setup next to your chipping pile, but I may miss being able to use FL without dropping chipper. I'm impressed for the first 2 hours, looking forward to late winter F tree pruning. Proper feeding can be improved by feeding cut end first, bucked or not.

Just assembled the chipper. The metal shipping cage had a top brace that was bolted together so I was able to remove that brace without cutting the cage. Nice because that cage can be reused as a base for a workbench in the barn. I was able to lift the chipper out of the cage with my tractor without problems.
Assembly was not difficult. Be sure to check all that all bolts are tight and grease all the fittings. The metal and plastic half pieces at the discharge chute were a bit tricky but take your time and your can figure it out.
I was able to insert a two bushings (one inside the other) purchased from Tractor Supply on the 3 pt hitch pins on the chipper and then attach the chipper to my John Deere 1025R Quick Hitch perfectly. I did have to adjust the top link angle so the chipper would set level. I did not have to cut the PTO drive shaft shipped with the chipper. If you don't have the JD Quick Hitch you may have to shorten the PTO drive shaft.
The chipper performs well. I was able to chip several large piles of limbs with really no issue. As with anything new you will need to experiment until you get used to how the chipper handles what you are feeding. The limbs I was feeding had been cut about a week and still had leaves. I did jam the chipper because the leaves clogged the discharge chute. I shutdown, disconnected PTO and was able to clear the jam without issue. I did jam the chipper and stalled the tractor with a roughly 4" log. I think it started to feed to fast and caused the jam. After clearing the jam I was able to feed the same log without problem. Over all the chipper performed very well and I am pleased.
One note for John Deere 1025R owners (and I am sure other brands as well). You will need bypass the seat presence safety switch in order for the PTO to run while you are not in the seat. Just simply make a jumper wire and unplug to connector under the seat and bypass the plug and you are good to go. Happy chipping.

Received my chipper here in Florida on 5/15/23. It is connected to my New Holland TC35A. I was able to uncrate and assemble without a second person. Instead of cutting the steel frame, I used my tractor lift boom to lift it out of the frame. (my wife wanted the frame intact). Oh, I am 82 rears old,
I proceeded to chip all of the trimmings from 7 oak trees. Branches ranged
from twigs to some which were right at the 4" limit. This chipper never missed a lick. The last 12" of the last branch would not go through the chute opening, so it went on the burn pile. 12 hours of chipping and not one glitch. I had to cut 2" off the drive shaft and added 2" to the legs to level the shaft. This chipper is a winner. No more burn piles. Thanks Betstco.

This chipper is very well made you will not be disappointed. Customer service is the best that I have worked with . Comes on a pallet with a an angle iron frame and shrink wrapped.
Having a saws all or angle grinder to cut the frame away will help. all of the hardware is included and assembly is straight forward. The included legs were a happy surprise.
Betstco has a customer in me for all of my tractor implements in the future.

I've bee running this on a JD 1023E subcompact for about 7 months and this thing is a beast. It eats everything you throw at it with no hesitation. Best attachment I've bought yet. Plus you cant beat the price.

I purchased this earlier this year. I have been clearing some trees that had grown too close to the house over the years. I needed something that would work with my very small Kubota Sub Compact BX-1880 tractor. While I am right at the low side of PTO horsepower, it exceeded my expectations. My son and I cut some maple trees and it made short work of all the excess limbs and such. Even with my small tractor we weren't having any issues with 4"+ limbs. We had a 16' dump trailer full of chips. I am amazed and so happy I took a chance on this brand. I have friends that have the more expensive copies and theirs don't seem to do as well as this one. Great purchase. I just wish I had bought the tractor and this chipper years ago. Great experience!

I bought this purely on price and availability. I didn't expect it to be great. I will only use it a few times a year so I was OK with that. That is after I finish the large clearing project i bought it for. I have to say I am impressed. The quality is better than the more expensive copies of this model. I have run a lot of material from smaller stuff to stuff that barely fits. It sucks it all in and creates nice mulch. I have used it for 3 weekends and run it hard. I assumed I would have to sharpen the blades daily or at best after each weekend. I haven't had to sharpen them yet and they cut like when it was new. This Chipper greatly exceeds my expectations. I was expecting to have the same problems with it that someone I know has had with a well known company's version of the same machine has had. Including he has to sharpen the blades daily. Some parts on his have bent. His cost more so I expected this to be a little worse. Its not it's a lot better. I got a better machine than I expected. I am very satisfied. Don't be afraid of it because it is priced lower than others who copy the same machine. My buddy was and paid more and got less. He regrets that now. I truly didn't expect the chipper to be as good as it turned out to be. I don't know why one is better than the other. But it is. My buddy is going to bring his blades over to see if they will interchange with mine. If so he will buy replacements for this machine for his.

I finally got tired of cutting and then burning all the small trees and other brush around my 18 acres, I looked locally but found nothing I liked so after a google search I found this one. I have bought a lot of items on line since Covid started but this was the heaviest Item I’ve bought, I did have to drive 40 minutes to the FedX freight location to pick it up due to the rural roads I live on. The assembly took me 2 hrs, I did have to shorten the PTO drive shaft to get it to fit on my Kubota L2501 and it matches the color of the tractor! We used it for about 4 hrs yesterday and it worked great, only had to clean a clog once because we put too many small green twigs in at once. This is a high quality well built out of thick gauge steel machine that will get passed on to my son’s and probably to the grandkids too!

Everything we hoped it would be. I chose to pick it up rather then have it delivered, so Betstco put it together. I did have to shortened the driveline. We ran it for about 6 hours today and we are very happy with it. Have it behind our Kubota B2301.
Betstco treated us very well and even let us know that a sale was coming up. Not many places would do that.

I waited until I used the BX42 for a while. I am running it with a small 20HP compact tractor I have not had any problems and have chipped almost all of my brush piles.
