Description

The EFG Series (Medium Duty) Flail Mower is an option if you are working on grass or brush. Ideal for an orchard, nursery, vineyard, in the greenhouse or for gardening. With its fast blade tip speed and interchangeable blades it is perfect for your groundskeeping tasks. By putting on the Grass Mulching Blades you can maintain the grass area around your home, plus cut and mulch small twigs. If you need to maintain more dense areas, install the Hammer Blades and you will be able to cut and mulch wooded material up to 2 inches in diameter.  This model is great for acreage of 15 or less. Flail Mowers are useful for jobs where you are cutting grass on uneven ground, high grass, weeds, brush, and wooded material. A flail mower doesn’t throw grass, instead it cuts finely and leaves the cuttings on the ground where it was cut making it an excellent choice for those places where you could cause damage by throwing debris. Highway mowing and park maintenance often use flail mowers because they are less likely to throw objects during cutting.

Blade Type: The EFG series comes standard with forged steel hammer blades. Each blade weighs 14 oz and does not need to be sharpened, as hammer blades bludgeon material to pulverize it into fine clippings. Hammer blades are rated for cutting tall grass and saplings 2” in diameter or less. We also carry optional cast steel hammer blades. If you do not have rocks or debris in your pasture, you can order a spare set of cast steel blades, they are rated for the same material (tall grass and saplings up to 2” diameter) but are less expensive than a set of forged hammers. We also carry grass knives that are only good for tall grass, but it leaves a nicer looking cut. Grass knives are made of tool steel and will deflect rocks without breaking.

Number of Blades: The EFG 125 uses 20  hammer blades.

Precision Blade Overlap: On the EFG series the blades are staggered precisely with no gap in the mowing area. Blade overlap is important to achieve an even cutting result.

Rotor Rotation – Reverse: The rotor spins in the opposite direction as the wheels of the tractor when traveling forward. This allows the blades to shear the material as it is folded forward by the mowers. The material is then thrown up and over the rotor.

Rotor Tube Diameter: 4 1/2″- Heavy duty steel tubing for long life.

Balanced Rotor Tube: The rotor tube is balanced to reduce vibration and ensures that the mower runs smooth, and reduces wear on the bearings.

Rotor Swing Diameter: 13″ Large swing so that the blades build required inertia.

Hitch Type: Category 1 standard 3-point.

Offset From Center Mount: This feature allows for offset from center to the right of the tractor. This feature is helpful for mowing around fences, buildings; walkways etc. From the center of the PTO the mower extends 24″or 28 1/4″.

Drive Belts: The EFG 125 uses 2 belts.

Gearbox Rating: Up to 45 hp. Heavy duty proven oil bath gearbox for long life.

Driveline / PTO Shaft: Shear Bolt PTO Shaft for Standard 1-3/8” 6-Spline PTO

Finish: Baked on powder coat, powder coat is superior to paint.
