The Farmer-Helper FH-WCX52 Wood Chipper is a self-feeding chipper designed for chipping branches up to 5 inches in diameter. Based on the Wallenstein BX42 with key modifications, this chipper features a heavy flywheel with air paddles and twig breakers for efficient chipping.
Optimized for tractors between 18-45 horsepower, the FH-WCX52 is also suitable for tractors under 25 horsepower by adjusting the chipping capacity according to the material type and load in the feed chute. This versatile chipper offers easy access for cleaning and blade changes, making maintenance a breeze.
The lightweight design makes it compatible with smaller tractors, while the direct drive system improves torque. This is a brute and annihilates a piece of wood, On Kubota 2501DT. Looked at more expensive competing units but they were backordered. Glad I bought this instead. Well made, less expensive, price includes tax and shipping. Had a bad chute position detent lever. Betsco sent new one immediately. Fast friendly service in English, and the answer the phone when you call...person I spoke with understood the machine too. Check bolts and anvil knife setting....I did have to adjust the anvil knife...did not find any loose bolts. Very happy with this chipper so far and glad I did not spend another $1500. Using to clear fence rows and hay field borders...not a professional woodcutter but this is more than sufficient. It does well with twigs and vines....they do not come out looking like twigs or vines but also do not chip like a larger piece of wood. Green or dried out wood seems to make little difference in chipping ability. Gravity feed system works fine....if it fits thru the opening it will chip. Great chipper, especially for the money.
This machine works great, as advertised. I'm running it on a Kubota L3301 @ 30 HP.
The engine doesn't have any problem even with the biggest chunks. Definitely check the torque on bolts and adjustment of blades. It would be scary if something came loose!
Customer service is great at Betstco, I have a couple other implements from them.
I purchased the machine about a month ago, and just now had my 1st opportunity to try it out. I had to clear the Shute after 3 sticks. Then I inspected the gap of the stationary blade and found it over 1/4” gap. After adjusting the blade to spec, it never clogged again. I’ve now filled an ATV logging trailer 2 times with chips and dispersed them back in the woods/trail. It’s being used on a 26hp Mahindra max with 20hp/pto. It can be a hungry animal. I gave it a 5” 8 footer and it handled it flawlessly. I am amazed that I need hearing protection, it is loud, but still much quieter than a rented gas powered model. Another happy camper!!!
