
The 2018 hurricane season is already started. It runs from Jun 1, 2018 – Nov 30, 2018. We have created a checkup list of how to best prepare for a hurricane.

Sign up for your community’s warning system. The Emergency Alert System (EAS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio also provide emergency alerts.

If you are at risk for flash flooding, watch for warning signs such as heavy rain. We have a wide variety of water pumps to help remove water from basements, ponds, and more.

Protect your property. Declutter drains and gutters. Install check valves in plumbing to prevent backups. Consider hurricane shutters. Review insurance policies. If you need to upgrade storm drains and cisterns, we have a many different models of backhoes to dig in advance of the storm.

Based on your location and community plans, make your own plans for evacuation or sheltering in place. If sheltering in place, it’s wise to have a generator in place and tested before hand. Always setup a generator outside of a dwelling or building. We have a large inventory of generators in stock.
Hurricane evacuation routes:

Gather needed supplies for at least three days. Keep in mind each person’s specific needs, including medication. Don’t forget the needs of pets.
